White Light Provides Production Support for Emissions Gap Report at Central Hall Westminster

The annual Emissions Gap Report offers an up-to-date scientific assessment of the global process towards emission reductions. This year’s Report was unveiled at annual conference which took place on 3rd November at Central Hall Westminster. As Production Service Partner at the renowned venue, White Light provided the entire technical support on the event, drawing on its state-of-the-art Crestron system.

This year’s event had additional significance as it took place a day before the Paris Climate Agreement came into force – an agreement that saw 195 counties adopt a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change.

At this year’s event, which is hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme, WL provided the lighting, audio and video support. The company also filmed the event and live streamed to YouTube for a global audience.

In order to ensure that the event ran smoothly with the various technical aspects working together, WL was able to draw on the revolutionary Crestron system which it recently installed throughout Central Hall.

Jonjo Glynn, WL’s Venue Production Director, comments: “The Crestron CP3 control system integrates all the disparate AV technologies and devices within the venue; creating a coherent system which is easy to manage”.

These systems both became an essential attribute when there was a last-minute room swap.

Jonjo comments: “Due to the number of those who attended, we had to change rooms at very short notice. Normally, this would be problematic but thanks to the Crestron system, along with our dedicated in-house technicians, we were able to do this with complete ease, ensuring there was zero disruption caused”.

The Emissions Gap Report was a success, with Erik Solheim, the Executive Director of UNEP stating how the Paris Agreement was a step in the right direction. For WL, the event showed how it can allow the historic spaces at Central Hall Westminster to be used to their full potential with the latest technology.

Jonjo adds: “Thanks largely due to the Crestron system, we are able to offer any event at Central Hall the exact technical support it requires. We have a system which is fully flexible and can fulfil any client’s needs – something we have seen again and again this year”.
