ETC unveils new Source Four LED Series 2 arrays: Daylight HD and Tungsten HD

ETC's Source FourR LED Series 2 LustrR luminaire introduced an entirely new
way of thinking about colour and LED light. Now ETC is stepping up the
quality of broadcast lighting, by introducing two new Source Four LED Series
2 arrays: Daylight HD for variable cool (4000 to 6500K) light and Tungsten
HD for adjustable warm (2700 to 4500K) light. The Source Four LED Series 2 Daylight HD and Tungsten HD luminaires include
special features that make them suitable for on-camera use. They operate
flicker free, even at high speeds, so they won't be noticeable while
filming. And the luminaires work quietly and dim smoothly, so they won't
disrupt the action on the set.

ETC has spent a lot of time researching and experimenting with LED colour,
creating luminaires with the richest, brightest and broadest colour ranges.
The Source Four LED Series 2 Daylight HD and Tungsten HD arrays benefit from
this colour expertise. The luminaires have tint control, so designers can
tweak the colour, warming it up or cooling it down, to perfectly illuminate
individual skin tones. "When we reworked the mix of LED emitters in our
white light luminaires, we found it greatly improved the brightness,"
explains ETC Fixtures Product Manager Jim Uphoff. "The new Daylight HD and
Tungsten HD arrays have a significantly higher lumen output than the
original Source Four LED luminaires."

The Source Four LED Series 2 luminaires allow designers incredible control
over colour quality. They can use preset colour temperature settings that
can be transferred from fixture to fixture, and use the user interface or a
console to experiment with individual control of each LED colour in the mix.
And setup can be done in just minutes, using DMX from a lighting console or
DMX-free from the user interface.

Like other Source Four LED luminaires, the Daylight HD and Tungsten HD
arrays are the same size and have the same beam angles and optics as
conventional Source Four fixtures. "Users can get the most out of their
fixture inventory," explains Uphoff, "because the Series 2 luminaires can
use the same lens barrel as other Source Four fixtures. And they accept
Source Four LED CYC adapters, so designers can use the Daylight HD and
Tungsten HD arrays to light backdrops with the brightest, adjustable light."
