The remarkable Fusion 672 LED-based video system has recently been deployed at events from London to Rome, allowing lighting designers to create incredible, seamless visual experiences to flow alongside musical performances and other live events.
Entertainment lighting specialist White Light has supplied Fusion battens to Immersive Ltd, a company which designs remarkable live productions, for recent projects including the Deadmau5 World Tour, the Dissonanze Festival in Rome, the Knife Party World Tour, and the Glade Festival in the UK, amongst others.
“Fusion is one of Immersive Ltd’s favourite video fixtures,” comments Immersive’s Mark Calvert. “We use Fusion with an Ai Media Server to map the video content to each LED fixture, and then we make surface specific content to suit the show.” The result is always an unforgettable light show, video and light flowing, twisting and expanding across the backdrop of the performer, enhancing shows immeasurably. “Plus, throughout, White Light’s service has been amazing,” he adds.
White Light has also put Fusion to use on many projects of its own, including an event for Square Mile Magazine at the Royal Courts of Justice in London. Here thirty-six Fusion battens were arranged as a stage backdrop and integrated with the back projection video screen to provide a stunning background to everything from performances by the Royal Ballet to the speech by London’s Mayor, Boris Johnson.
Able to display video from a media server or under the control of a lighting console via DMX or Art-Net, Fusion is a powerful, versatile visual tool. “Having a tool that allows images to be used effectively across a single batten or scaled out to a fragmented - but visually coherent - design is hugely appealing to designers across the full spectrum of entertainment,” notes White Light’s Antony Vine. “We are able to supply Fusion to achieve just that, achieving stunning looks that have delighted clients and would have been impossible to achieve in other ways.”
