Cooper Controls will be showcasing their latest lighting control products from
Zero 88 at PLASA 2010 from the 12th – 15th September 2010.
ORB XF
Taking centre stage on the Cooper Controls stand this year is the ORB XF – the latest member of Zero 88’s ZerOS suite of lighting control consoles.
Designed to sit alongside the existing ORB console, the ORB XF has been designed for professional users requiring hands on live control. ORB XF adds fader control for intensity channels and live submaster playback, making it ideal for control of live events.
ORB XF features 60 multipurpose faders which can be utilised as channel controls (pageable across your entire patch), submasters (pageable across 20 pages) or playbacks (the bottom 20 faders only). A dual colour LED flash button under the fader indicates the current function of each fader.
Combining theatrical syntax and an interactive hardware platform, ORB XF provides intuitive control of both generic dimmers and moving lights.
RDM
Cooper Controls is one of the leading lighting control manufacturers in terms of RDM implementation and continues to take an active part in the development of the RDM standard. 70% of the Zero 88 product range is fully RDM enabled with the ZerOS range of consoles planned to come on stream by the end of 2010.
The majority of the products on the Cooper Controls stand at PLASA are RDM enabled. Visitors to the stand will be able to see how RDM works across consoles, dimmers, moving light and LED fixtures, and experience just how powerful this technology can be.
Zero 88 RDM enabled products can also be found on the ‘RDM Connectivity Corner’ at PLASA on stand 2-P37, where Zero 88 is one of the main sponsors.
ZerOS version 6.0 Software
The latest version of software for the ZerOS consoles (Leap Frog 48 & 96, Frog 2, ORB and the new ORB XF) will also debut at PLASA 2010. This update includes a host of powerful new features including;

State Automation
Since taking on the European distribution for State Automation this time last year Cooper Controls has quoted and completed a number of significant installations including Olso Opera, Nuremburg Opera and Berliner Festspiele.
State Automation’s Solution Optical Fibre Dimmer Racks are the first fixed installation racks with an integrated optical fibre Ethernet connection. 96, 72 & 48 channel versions of the Solution Optical Fibre series are available with options for 2.5kW, 3kW, 5kW or 10kW per channel. Modules can be any mix of standard phase control, Advanced Phase Control or Variable Sinewave Technology.
The Solution series offer intelligent dynamic soft-start, voltage regulation and high resolution triggering for smooth dimming curves.
State Automation’s APC and VST technology offers a host of benefits over standard technology including;
• Increased efficiency with up to 50% less heat dissipation
• Brighter lamp output with lower voltage drop across the dimmer
• Pure electronic switching
• Installation and maintenance savings (VST)
• Elimination of filament sing (VST)
Cooper Controls will have the State Automation Solution 72 Dimmer Rack at PLASA 2010. Visit their stand to see why so many people are switching to State Automation for their high density dimming applications.
Also featuring at the show are the popular Jester consoles, our iPhone applications for the ZerOS console range and ArchiDMX, a simple LED lighting controller.
