White Light is proud to announce the appointment of new Business Development Manager, Martin Palmer. This newly created position will not only help White Light maintain the high standard customers have come to expect, but also develop new business opportunities in the South of England.
Martin has been in the lighting and sound industry since he was 18 years old, starting his career working in a local nightclub whilst training as an electrical engineer. He worked for various electrical contractors in the performance industry, including bars and leisure complexes, in architectural lighting such as New Wardour Castle, and sound, lighting design and installation for a number of shops such as H&M and Hallmark Cards.
He then joined Stagecraft Ltd as an engineer, being promoted to Sales Director in 2004. Martin designed and worked on over 200 performance venue projects, including over 50 newly constructed schools, drama spaces, recording studios and numerous village halls. He also worked on both project phases for the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth, which incorporated the first use of large format colour changing LED fixtures to relight the external face of the building to allow it to be themed to match the incoming shows. His skills for interactive lighting led him to work for the new children’s hospital in Brighton with Jason Bruges Studios from London.
“We are delighted to welcome Martin to White Light, his industry knowledge and natural way with customer service fits perfectly with those of White Light” comments Peter Threadgold, White Light’s Sales Director. “Having known Martin for a number of years I am looking forward to working together and continuing the growth in our business”.
White Light has also recently appointed new sales co-ordinators Amanda Humphreys and Rachael Bates to deal with daily sales enquiries and Sabina Lockwood as Sales Office Administrator, following the promotion of Caroline Ferris to Sales Office Supervisor.
