Andrew Grant
Biography
Andrew trained at LAMDA in Stage Management and Technical Theatre and has over 20 years' experience in lighting and control systems, spanning programming, infrastructure design and systems integration across international venues.
He is currently Lighting Control Manager at the National Theatre in London, where he leads a team of programmers and control technicians, overseeing all lighting programming, networking and data infrastructure across the Olivier, Lyttelton and Dorfman Theatres.
Andrew also provides freelance consultancy in lighting control, lighting programming, networking and data infrastructure, supporting organisations with complex system design, integration and training.
Before joining the National Theatre, Andrew's roles included Deputy Manager for Lighting Control and Visualisation at the Royal Opera House, Technical Manager at the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre in Kuwait, Technical Director at the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait and Senior Lighting Programmer at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman. Until 2014, he also worked as a freelance lighting programmer on productions across North America, the UK and Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and Australasia.
Andrew serves on the Board of Trustees for The Theatrical Guild, supporting theatre professionals through training, wellbeing and financial assistance.
